Balance On and Off The Mat

I love this  quote for the week as we work on balance. Balance is something most students
struggle with because it is something we lose as we get older. But this is ONLY
if we don't work at it. Imbalance in our life and in our bodies takes us away
from our optimal place of freedom and happiness. Yoga helps us find the balance
in our bodies, minds and souls.


Here are the physical factors related to falls as we get older:

  • Postural  problems including curved spine and spinal degeneration

  • Reduced muscular strength including weak legs and hips

  • Ability to lift foot may be reduced increasing stumbling

  • Decrease in reaction time in older adults

  • Drug interactions

  • Orthostatic
    hypotension causing light-headedness

Yoga  incorporates strength, endurance and balance training which is essential in
maintaining and promoting good balance. Join us this week to learn the tools you
